Research frame
- New price (NL): roughly €100 to €130. The 630 is listed at Amazon.nl and Dutch retailers. A clean current price was not posted on the comparison pages, so treat this as a range. (Data gap flagged.)
- The unit: 60W, Vortex circulation, moves the air in a whole room rather than blowing at a face. Mostly polymer, well built.
- Warranty and repair: Vornado covers the whole unit, motor included, for three to five years. Owners report five years and more. Many buy several. Wirecutter has kept the 630 as a top pick for close to a decade.
- Resale: modest. A used Vornado holds something, call it €40 to €50. (Estimate.)
- Cheap counterpart: a plastic floor fan at €25, binned roughly every two summers. (Representative figure.)

Read this honestly. Over three years the cheap fan is €25 cheaper. The ledger does not favour the Vornado yet. The line crosses around year five. By year ten the plastic path has cost five fans and roughly €125. The Vornado is still running on the same motor.
There is no patina dividend here. A circulator does not age into something better. The dividend is the fans you never buy again.

The cheap fan tells you when it is dying. The bearing starts to whine in the second August. Then it rattles. Then it stops. You buy another one. This is the normal rhythm of a plastic fan. Almost nobody questions it.

That is the whole pitch. You buy the circulator once. The August ritual of replacing junk ends.
