    The Bidet Hand Shower

Fortifura Calvi bidet hand shower (brushed copper)

Endurism Spotlight: The Bidet Hand Shower

Toilet paper is the rare purchase you use once and then flush away for good.

    The money

The average person gets through about 78 rolls a year. At fifty cents a roll that is roughly €39, flushed, every year. Over a decade a single adult spends close to €390 on paper. A four-person household clears €156 a year and more than €1.500 across the same ten years. The spend never stops. It leaves nothing behind.

A bidet hand shower ends most of it. Users cut their paper use by seventy to eighty percent once the sprayer is on the wall. The water it draws costs a few cents a week. The device itself is a one-time €34.

    The object

The Fortifura Calvi is a hand-held bidet sprayer with a solid brass body and a brushed-copper finish. It bolts onto the cold-water feed behind your toilet. There is nothing electronic inside to fail. A thumb lever controls the flow. The brass valve behind it is the only working part. Sanitairwinkel lists it at €33,99 including VAT, with a five-year warranty. Brass fixtures like this outlast the warranty by decades. When a washer or hose wears, you replace that part for a few euro.

    The math

Take one adult over ten years. Paper alone runs to about €390. Fit the Calvi and the paper bill drops to about €10 a year. You still dry off with a little. Add the water it uses and the one-time €34. The decade comes to around €160. The gap is roughly €230 for one person and more than €1.000 for a family. In a two-person household the sprayer pays for itself in under a year.

    Ownership

Brass takes on a warmer tone as it ages and the finish settles into the room. The one wearing part is the hose, sold on its own for a few euro. Nothing here goes obsolete and nothing here asks for a subscription. You pay once and the paper aisle stops being your problem.

Own better. €34 of brass retires a €390 paper bill and keeps retiring it for decades.
